Dr. Nasser until his appointment as the Vice President of the IUCG, was a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon. He served for two terms as the Head of the Modern Languages Department and for two years as a member of the Executive Committee of University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). He was a board member of the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) from 2009 to 2015 and has served in numerous committees such as the Appointments and Promotions Committee, and Infrastructure Committee of the NCTE.
He was also a member of the Council of the University for Development Studies as well as the Governing Council of Bagabaga College of Education. As the Vice President in charge of academic affairs, Dr. Nasser is responsible for formulating and reviewing of qualitative and pragmatic policies on matters relating to academics as well as driving IUCG’s “vision to become the leading provider of academic excellence and moral uprightness in tertiary education in Ghana.”
Dr. Gamel Nasser holds B.A. (Combined Honours) degree in French and Russian, from University of Ghana, Legon and PhD (Philology – Russian) from Pushkin Institute, Moscow.
